Saunaniemi – a large, stylish holiday apartment in North-Savo region

The renovation is complete and this lovely property is available for rent again!

Saunaniemi’s large (176 m2) and cozy holiday home was originally completed in 2006. The interior of this property was fully renovated in 2024 and it accommodates up to 8 guests.

The holiday home features a spacious living room with lake views. On cold winter days, the baking oven brings warmth and atmosphere, and if you are looking for entertainment, Wi-Fi is available and the LG Smart TV offers something to watch for everyone. From the living room, you have access to the glazed terrace, where you can grill and set the table in any weather. There are three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have double beds (160 cm and 180 cm), and one bedroom has a double bed (160 cm) that can be separated into two beds if needed. In addition, the fireplace room includes a sofa bed (140 cm). Our holiday home is best suited for six guests. For the youngest guests, we can provide a travel cot with bed linens on request.

The kitchen is comprehensively and modernly equipped, and the appliances were renewed during the renovation. While cooking, you can admire the lake scenery. The fireplace room is a comfortable place to relax by the fire and even roast sausages. From the fireplace room, you can step out onto the glazed rear terrace, where you can unwind while admiring the lake view from basket chairs or the sofa. It is a wonderful place to spend the evening with family or friends! You can enjoy relaxing sauna sessions next to the large scenic window and then cool off under the rain shower. The bathroom includes the holiday home’s second toilet, separated by a frosted glass sliding door. Another separate toilet is located by the entrance hall. For longer stays, the utility room includes a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is plenty of storage space in the entrance area, the large mirrored closets in the hallway, and the wardrobes in the bedrooms.

Lakeside sauna

In summer, you can enjoy the gentle heat of the beach sauna and take a refreshing dip in the lake in between, either from the pier or from the shore. The shallower shoreline is also well suited for small children. The sauna has running water and electricity. In the yard, there is also a summer sleeping cabin for two guests available during the summer season. The cabin also has electricity.

You can enjoy being close to nature and, for example, go listen to the gentle murmur of the Kaavinkoski rapids. On sunny summer days, it is lovely to relax in the sun and cool off now and then in the waves of Lake Rikkavesi. The yard also features a campfire area and a Muurikka outdoor kitchen. Guests can use outdoor games (Mölkky, pétanque, croquet, dartboard) as well as four sun loungers.

In autumn, berry-picking and mushroom-foraging spots can be found within walking distance. In winter, there is an opportunity to try snowshoeing.
The cottage is located on the shore of Lake Rikkavesi, which offers excellent fishing opportunities. A rowing boat, fishing rods, and life jackets are available for guests to use.
